As Rabbis Face Facts, Bible Tales Are Wilting (New York Times) - by Michael Messing
"Conservative" Jews have issued a new Torah and Commentary which basically says that nothing in the Old Testament is really true. Not surprisingly, the commentary is co-edited by Rabbi Harold Kushner, the author of the anti-Biblical book When Bad Things Happen to Good People. Also not surprisingly, the NYT article doesn't provide a response to the new Commentary from anyone who would state that there is ample archaeological evidence that supports the accuracy of the Bible.
If you are looking for a couple of good books that demonstrate how the Bible is supported by both historical and archaeological evidence, check out Evidence That Demands a Verdict Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 by Josh McDowell.
